This is a short video of a McDonough Linear 3 saw edger system. The system was designed to be hands-off with the operator simply entering grade for each flitch as they pass across the turn/pass area. Feed speed in the video is just above 500 fpm with a piece-count setting of 25 pieces per minute. This system ran at 40 ppm during start-up testing and was slowed back down as the pace of the mill is much less than that. This sytem uses electro servo positioning for all motion axis.
